William and Charlotte’s townhouse in Clapham was to be their first proper family home. The only issue with the building was the narrowness of it’s hall and the size of the dark kitchen that extended out to the back. We gained permitted development for a roof conversion to anticipate children and suggested three large arched doors between each ground floor room and the hall, making the house elegantly open or curiously closed. Using a periscope side return, an orangery like set of garden doors and a panelled kitchen ceiling we helped refurbish a traditional terrace with some subtle pop and a nod to their youth and ambitions.
